Estrella Cabildo



Biography


     Estrella Cabildo, originally from San Rafael, Veracruz, Mexico, holds a Master's degree in Music with a specialization in Musical Composition, which she earned with honors from the Universidad Veracruzana under the guidance of Dr. Emil Awad. Previously, in 2021, she completed her Bachelor's degree in Music with a focus on Composition at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. She has studied with great masters such as Emil Awad, Arturo Márquez, Agustín Calabrese, Gonzalo Macías, Jonathan Carrasco, and Federico Orduña.

 

     In July 2024, she was selected to participate in the premiere of her works during the France Summer Music YXIE. Currently, she has been chosen for the 2024 Permanent Program for the Strengthening of Young Composers by CEPROMUSIC. In 2023, she received the Cátedra Extraordinaria Arturo Márquez de Composición Musical, which led to the creation of "Perenne Mar" for symphony orchestra, premiered by the Orquesta Juvenil Universitaria Eduardo Mata, as well as "Festival de Sangre" for chamber orchestra soloists, presented during the El Aleph Festival.

 

    In the realm of artistic creation, she has been supported by the Program for the Stimulus of Creation and Artistic Development of Veracruz (PECDA, 2024) with her project "Xantolo: Chamber Symphony", and previously by PECDA Puebla in 2021 with "Ballet for Chamber Ensemble: Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl", as well as in 2019 with "Música con color mexicano", from which her work "Bolero Mexicano" for chamber orchestra was derived. Her work "Ilusiones para Oboe" (for oboe and ensemble), also selected by CEPROMUSIC in 2020, premiered during the residency of Venezuelan oboist Vicente Moronta.

 

     Her work has resonated on international stages, spanning countries such as Mexico, France, E.E.U.U, Canadá, Chile, and Brazil.
